I was a builder in the New Orleans metropolitan area and remodeler in the south. It is very hot in the south and I like to be clean. As I was building, I used to walk down the job sites and as I was walking them down, it was hot in Louisiana or cold in the winter time. I used to sit in my air conditioned car to make notes for the houses and make phone calls. As I was doing so, I noticed my subcontractors occasionally would go into the portalets with baby wipes, which attracted my interest. So, I asked them several times are you using the baby wipes to wipe the toilet seat or yourself? They said both but they liked to be clean, it’s hot in the south. Contractors get up early in the morning, usually eat on the road and take care of their business on the road, so I noticed that they liked to be clean. I thought that was a great idea, so I made a few prototypes, stuck them in my office and not only did the guys like them, but women that were potty training young children loved them for their convenience.
Then in 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and three years after working through the aftermath and getting through the clean up and rebuilding, I noticed that flushable wipes were just hitting the market. I researched and noticed that they had a product that came out similar to mine 10 years prior, but it wasn’t engineered with good seals, the wipes would dry up and it just wasn’t a well thought out product. So I set off to invent and patent a product that was well made, sturdy in construction, and that I would be proud to put my name on.
The first name was Bob’s Butt Wipes™ because it was great branding, the name tells what it does. But I knew in my heart that 80% of people buying it were women, so we needed to come out with a product that women would buy and thus, BouDe’™ was born. Then I figured that the women, who liked it when we were testing out the prototype, would be using it to potty train their children and thus, Lil Booty’s Adventure Wipes™ were born. Everyone that we showed the product to that uses wipes, instantly approved and liked the product.
We took 2 years to find the right flushable quality paper, design the canister, get the factory to produce the right quality and now we are at market. We hope that you love this product as much as we do!
